Japan's largest umbrella sky design project

CONCEPT

"Umbrella Sky" started in 2012 as part of the art festival in the small town of Agueda in Portugal.
The extraordinary sight that an umbrella fills up overhead attracts many people's hearts.
This time, the largest sky umbrella design project in Japan is carried out at metsä village. Mr. Masaru Suzuki, a textile designer who designs by world-class brands such as marimekko and CAMPER.
From the entrance of the forest to the lake, the road of about 1000m linked with the color of 100 umbrellas floating in the air changes like a rainbow.
The view of the world you see changes with approach and ending.
I also enjoy looking for forms of animals and umbrellas hidden casually on the road. Enjoy a colorful and dramatic space experience.

The Umbrella Sky Project in Agueda, Portugal, is a collaboration of Scandinavian design. A road print designed by Masaru Suzuki, a world-famous textile designer related to Scandinavia, and an umbrella coordinated by Masaru are displayed on the aisle of metsä Tie. At the metsä Hall, which passes through the Umbrella Tunnel, a pop-up shop with a world view continues. Have people fully enjoy a rainy day in a colorful world.

Masaru Suzuki

Textile designer. 2002, established umpita limited company. President of the fabric brand OTTAIPNU from 2004. In addition to their own brands, Marimekko, Moomin, Uniqlo, Camper, Familia, released products from various manufacturers, brands such as Zoff, such as Zoff. In 2015, we received the 35 Newspaper Advertising Award at the "Toyama Moyo Project," which expresses Toyama's attractiveness with pattern design. In 2016, at the Milan Design Week 2016 held in Milan, we received the Milan Design Award 2016 “BEST ENGAGEMENT by IED”. Published a collection of works “Seizuda Masaru's Textiles” from Seibundo Shinkosha. 2017 Held an exhibition "Museum of Suzuki Masaru's Textile Exhibition" at Mitsubishi Estate Altium. Professor, Department of Design, Faculty of Design, Tokyo Zokei University.
