[Special "Autumn of Art" project] Moomin picture book author visits Japan from Finland! Workshop, autograph session and talk event

The author of the new Moomin picture book will be visiting metsä from Finland, a Northern European country! This is a one-day special event!

Lina and Sami Cara, the authors of the fun picture book series "In the MOOMINHOUSE," which involves flipping through the flaps scattered throughout the pages to find the hidden object, and the two books "Welcome to Moominhouse!" and "Welcome to Moominpappa's Town!" (both published by Kodansha in 2024), will be special guests and will hold workshops, autograph sessions, and talk events.

The two official Moomin illustrators will talk about their depictions of Moomin characters, their creative process, and their unique characteristics.

PROFILE

Leena and Sami Cara

Finnish illustrators and authors Liina and Sami Kaala have been illustrating and writing Moomin for nearly 20 years. It is important for Liina and Sami to respect the philosophy and harmony of Tove Jansson's work, while also embracing the cheerful, energetic and humorous aspects of her world. Their Moomin picture books have been published all over the world, including in Japan.
